Two different worlds collide, and you could benefit

It’s a truism to say that you get what you pay for. Mostly. But certainly in the case of good people.

In the corporate world of large businesses, multi-country, multi-jurisdictions, complex organisations with layers & layers of management, the bill goes up significantly. People who have the skill to not only navigate the complex world of IT, security, hardware & software, cloud, data & privacy but to do so in organisations like an electrical diagram for an Amazon warehouse, are difficult to find and expensive to hire.

So what, you might say. That’s not what my business is like. I’m a small company with small company challenges.

In The Firm, we have staff who have worked in both worlds, small & large. We have run our own businesses as well as worked for large multi-nationals.

The point is that these two worlds are starting to collide. In a couple ways. Firstly, small businesses can service large businesses. A small business of 15 people can have the biggest companies in the world as a client. And these clients do not always discriminate in the standards they apply. Just because you only have 15 staff doesn’t mean you’re off the hook for how you run your business and how you look after their data.

And for the UK Government, the largest single ‘client’ in the UK, they actively encourage the use of small businesses over large. But they have standards. Would you measure up?

The beauty of the cloud is that small businesses have access to the same tools as large. If you know how to use them. Getting that blend of just the right set of software and cloud services, policies & procedures to protect your operations and data doesn’t have to break the bank.

Between us at The Firm UK, we have nearly 100 years of experience in IT, Security & Compliance. We have worked for the smallest and largest of businesses. We have run our own companies and have the scars to prove it.

We don’t talk in acronyms, and we don’t do BS. We’ve had to wade through far too much of that. But we do know our craft. From scaling-up to scaling-down, broadening out to simplifying. And if we can’t do it ourselves, we’ll tell you. And it’s likely we likely know someone who can.
